This series is the sequel of the 2008 hit telefantasya, Luna Mystika. The series is set in the fictional outskirts of Barrio Mausok and in seaside town of Santa Monica, Malabon, follows the lives of twin sisters Luna and Blanca. The two are believed to be the last descendants of Luna, the woman with a distorted face and Celestina, her mystical twin shadow (see Luna Mystika cast and characters). Although they are twins, the two sisters have completely opposite features, one with a very dark complexion and the other one with fair skin. The show attempts to build a successful narrative on the Philippine society's resentment of those with darker skin, while favoring those with lighter skin, using the concept of blackface.
